Frequently Asked Questions

Common symptoms of grief include:

  • Shock & disbelief
  • Sadness & tears
  • Anger & resentment
  • Anxiety & insecurity
  • Guilt & self-blame
  • Withdrawal & isolation
  • Loneliness & depression

There are many ways to support someone who is grieving. You can offer your condolences, listen to them talk about their loved one, help with practical tasks, or just be there for them.

There is no one, “right” way to grieve. You may find it helpful to talk to a counsellor or therapist, join a support group, or talk to friends and family.

Support services can provide you with information and resources to help you understand and cope with your grief. They can also offer emotional support and practical assistance.
